Liang Teh Story

Hey Folks!

I am no ordinary tea, I am a herbal tea!

My fellow Singaporean know me very well, they call me “Liang Teh”

How does my healing properties work?

Using TCM principles, I was created by my master as a remedy for symptoms of the common cold and flu.

My remedy powers comes from the herbs in me.

Medicinal properties in the the herbs adjust heat & cold symptoms of common cold and flu, they restore the balance state of the body

Grosvenor Momordica Fruit, A.K.A Monk Fruit(罗汉果)

Properties: sweet, sour, cool in nature

Usage: clearing away heat, moistening lungs, relieving cough and resolving phlegm, promoting body fluids and smoothening intestines and detoxifying, rejuvenating skin

Preparation: Simple monk fruit tea is usually made by boiling it in water

Common Selfheal Spike Fruit (夏枯草)

Properties: pungent, bitter, cold in nature

Usage: Clear away heat and purge fire, dissipate stagnation and reduce swelling, and improve eyesight.

Preparation: Simple Common Selfheal Spike Fruit tea is usually made by boiling it in water

Honeysuckle Flower (金银花):

Properties: Cold, sweet

Uses: Clears heat, relieves toxicity, treats sore throat, and fever

Preparation: Used in teas or decoctions, often combined with other heat-clearing herbs

Chrysanthemum (菊花):

Properties: Cool, sweet, and slightly bitter

Uses: Disperses wind-heat, clears heat, and detoxifies

Preparation: Steeped in hot water as a tea, sometimes blended with other herbs

Ginger (生姜):

Properties*: Warm, spicy

Uses: Helps to release the exterior (sweat out pathogens), alleviates nausea, warms the body

Preparation: Often made into a simple tea by boiling fresh ginger slices in water

Cinnamon Twig (桂枝):

Properties: Warm, sweet, and spicy

Uses: Releases the exterior, warms the Yang, unblocks channels

Preparation: Combined with other herbs to create a decoction

Peppermint (薄荷):

Properties: Cool, pungent

Uses: Disperses wind-heat, clears the head and eyes, relieves sore throat

Preparation: Steeped in hot water to make tea, often combined with other cooling herbs

Licorice Root (甘草):

Properties: Neutral, sweet

Uses: Tonifies the spleen and stomach Qi, moistens the lungs, stops cough

Preparation: Added to herbal teas to harmonize the formula and enhance the effects of other herbs
